Accountants One is working with a repeat Automotive client in Duluth to help them find a Senior Accountant. This is a great opportunity to work with a successful, billion-dollar company. Responsibilities:
- Assists with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Record keeping for real estate and personal family entities.
- Records period-end and correcting journal entries.
- Reconciles interfaces into the general ledger, including accounts payable, revenue, project activities, and system allocations.
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Assist in the reconciliation of various general ledger accounts (cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets & depreciation, parts inventories, and work in process).
- Support annual year-end review by completing requests as needed.
- Assist Controllers in the bookkeeping of retail operating companies, duties as assigned.
- Liaise with our Assistant Corporate Controller & Store Controllers to improve financial procedures and work papers.
- Assist with daily bank reconciliation & manufacturer invoice postings for assigned operating companies as assigned.
- Prepares financial reports and KPI analysis in varying formats utilizing multiple data sources.
- Helps generate monthly financial packages to distribute to Finance department management, senior leaders, internal partners, board, and board sub-committees.
- Completes account reconciliations, budget variance, and other financial statement analyses.
- Assists supervisor and other leaders by helping resolve issues.
- Identifies opportunities to improve processes.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience as Staff Accountant, Sr Accountant, Office Manager/Bookkeeper
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures, debits and credits
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Process-oriented, efficiency always in mind
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, Reynolds or CDK preferred if has auto experience
- MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative analysis
- Self-starter and able to manage and complete a project independently
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
