Accountants One hired to help a growing, commercial construction, General Contractor hire a Controller.  The company is just over 10 years old and expanding considerably.  They offer a great opportunity for someone to join and make a major impact as the organization jumps to the next level of growth. 

This role will work directly with the owner that is a very connected, successful entrepreneur.  They are partnering with some large national firms.  The successful candidate must be willing to start as a “one-person” accounting and finance department.  You will work with the owner to help define the future staffing needs. 

The successful candidate needs to enjoy building and implementing best practices.  All issues that need addressed are positive and due to company growth.  Implementing software, improving processes, improving budgets and forecasting are all things this person will lead.

Job Duties:

• Process daily accounting functions like invoicing, A/P, and A/R
• Process payroll for 20 internal employees
• Work with Project Managers to track project budgets and job costs
• Prepare month-end close journal entries, produce financial statements
• Prepare monthly reporting package of variance analysis and rolling forecasts
• Manage CPA relationship for audit and tax purposes
• Manage Bonding relationships

Job Requirements:

• Accounting or Finance degree required, CPA preferred
• Commercial construction experience required
• Management experience required
• Experience in high-growth or changing company preferred, ability to create infrastructure needed for future expansion
• Good people skills, ability to manage vendor relationships
