Accountants One is working with a manufacturing company looking for a Senior Director of Finance and Accounting. We are looking for someone who is going to be responsible for the management of the Company’s Accounting department (including payroll processing and benefits administration, A/R, and A/P). Oversee financial planning, budget management, monthly financial statements, year-end audit coordination, and relevant systems implementations. Ensure accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles and public company standards while maintaining strong internal controls.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for oversight of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and the filing of SEC-required financial reports. Serve as a management liaison for financial audits and report findings and corrective measures to Chief Financial Officer.
Maintain strong financial control policies and procedures to ensure the validity of the company’s financial statements and reporting. Oversee cash management, debt, and purchasing agreements in coordination with the Chief Financial Officer.
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process, including cash flow projections, contract reviews, and policy matters, working in conjunction with Chief Financial Officer.
Work with department heads to manage annual and long-term budgeting.
Provide technical accounting US GAAP guidance, and ensure financial reports are prepared in compliance with US GAAP.
Manage the accounting and reporting of all stock options allocated and manage vendors providing management services.
Manage all tax filings for federal, state, and local jurisdictions (e.g., corporate/franchise, sales & use tax, property taxes).
Coordinate the annual renewal of all insurance policies (e.g., commercial, business/management, workers’ compensation).
Oversee fixed assets, including recording depreciation, accounting for any disposals, and intangible asset tracking and amortization (IP and Software).
Oversee inventory management including annual physical inventory, updating product standard costs, and reconciliation of detail records to the General Ledger.
Hire, manage, and retain necessary staff and/ or external resources to ensure successful management of financial responsibilities.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance with 8 plus years minimum experience. (Masters Preferred)
Demonstrated management experience in accounting departments.
Knowledge of finance, general accounting, and cost accounting principles.
Knowledge of current accounting standards, federal and state financial regulations, and applicable business law.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with internal and external customers.
Certified Public Accountant.
Excellent interpersonal management skills, both internal and external.
Demonstrated computer proficiency in standard office software applications and financial systems.
Manufacturing Industry Experience
Public company finance experience.
