Controller

Accountants One has a great Controller opportunity for a wonderful medical nonprofit in Athens, GA. After initial training, will be able to work hybrid- 2 days at home and 3 days in the office. The hours are 8 to 5 with flexibility.

This is a Controller position and the company offers excellent benefits. This person must have done full cycle accounting and understand debits/Credits and Accrual accounting. This person will lead the accounting and financial operations of this company. Recommends and implements accounting procedures and policies. Will supervise 3 people.

Responsibilities:

Direct responsibility for monthly and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations and producing financial statements.
Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization and oversee federal awards and programs.
Manages and performs grant reimbursements.
Drives continuous, significant and sustainable process improvements by implementing efficient methods to ensure optimal performance within the finance department.
Monitors banking activities of the organization to ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization’s needs.
Leads preparation for and coordination of annual audit, including risk assessment, field work and subsequent events.
Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
Develops credibility for the finance team by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the CFO, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Governing Board, and the Executive Team in performing their responsibilities.
Enhances and/or develops, implements, and enforces the financial policies and procedures of the organization.
Attends required meetings and committees as directed by the CFO.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
Proficient in excel and other Office 365 capabilities.
Minimum 5 years of professional level experience
